The long awaited Löfstedt report, released on 28 November, has been met with mainly positive responses. The main suggestions include:

That the government works closely with the EU health and safety review in 2013

Increase the authority of the HSE to direct all local authority health and safety activity - although this has been rejected by government

Pre-action protocols to guide document disclosure and clarified and qualified what is 'reasonably practicable'.
